Spring is on its way

Spring is on its way...

I certainly hope so because it is the middle of March now and we have been deluged by constant showers, blown away by the ice cold wind and totally frozen in despair while waiting for the good weather.

Yes, 2016 weather is so very disappointing so far. At least here in the West of Ireland in the beautiful Galway county. I won't be surprised if in Dublin and the East parts the birds are singing and the weather is all nice and rosy. 

You can not imagine how many times I have traveled to Dublin and back witnessing and enjoying fantastic lovely sunny weather over there. Then on my way back half way across the country clouds appear out of nowhere and slowly and menacingly swoop down until by the time I arrive in Galway it's cold and rain is pouring like there is no tomorrow. 

So it is really time for spring. Nothing is blossoming yet, which is so strange, I am waiting impatiently for nature to be revived and reborn. 

Come on sun!! Stop hiding!! I need some light and colour!! 

 

For the time being the daffodils are one of the few flowers blossoming... But spring is on it's way, soon there will be more ;)

The Glorious Spring Light

Spring is certainly one of my favourite times of the year, for so many reasons that I am not sure where to start.

The trees are blossoming, new foliage is growing, the first flowers are springing out of the winter devastation, the days are getting longer and finally - the light is changing. The darkness is over, the light is becoming so pure and bright, it is a real pleasure to press that shutter button. And since photography is my most enjoyable pastime how can I not be joyous and happy that spring has arrived?   

Now is the moment to crawl through the gardens and new greenery and explore the neighborhood, to look up the cherry and apple trees and forget yourself for a while.

Just admire that gorgeous nature all around you, basking in the glorious spring light, shake off the winter darkness, grab the camera and get out of hiding and back into the light. 

And don't worry,  summer is on its way...

Lost in the beauty of Spring

It's this time of the year that we can't wait for the clouds to drift away, the wind to disappear, the blue sky to stretch from one side of the horizon to the other and the sun to stare back at us saying "Hey, the Summer is just around the corner..."

OK, hold your horses, the cherry trees haven't really blossomed yet, the daffodils are still here, even though a bit tired looking ( a good sign that the months are rolling by ) so let's wait  a bit longer.
The Summer will be here before we know it really!!

The Angels in White

Daffodils come in many colours and shapes but the giant white ones are simply magnificent!! 

Every time I look at these plants they remind me of Angels in White

The Little Cherry Tree

In  my garden, there is a little cherry tree that doesn't seem to grown much over the years. 

It is hardly taller than me, and believe me I am not on the tall side, none the less, every year it provides me with a number of glorious photo opportunities.

I am nothing but thankful to the Little Cherry Tree.

Actually, I wait impatiently every single day in spring for the buds to open up so I can stalk around the tree with my camera and my lenses and take a bunch of photos.
This year wasn't any different. So, now I am going to share with you my photos from this spring.

Spring ...AT LAST

It is time for a few blossoms, at this time of the year, this is the best thing there is!!

Usually I wait impatiently for the first blossoms to appear. I lay in wait for months and change my route just so I can pass by my favourite bunch of cherry trees and inspect the amount of buds appearing or is there any signs of blossoms or is it good for photos yet. It is all part of the big picture - the joy of spring and shooting the blossoming trees. I love it as much as chasing the colours of autumn.
