Going Forward

This year the summer crept up on me in such a way I hardly saw it coming.

Before I could look around the leaves were all out and flattering in the breeze, the grass was ready to be cut and the bird were singing like crazy on our roof.

Working full time and studding at the same time was so time consuming that I neglected all my blogs tragically and it will take me a bit of time to catch up and make up for the lost time.

But now I have new skills and I am so glad that I went to this course because I discovered a new passion in life and a completely new opportunity for going forward, for growing, for any which way you want to put it!! Making websites, writing code, HTML, CSS and all that...combined with my photography passion and love of writing, I say, what a great combination!

So this post is all bout Going Forward. Growing and Learning.
It is never too late.

And those are the latest photos I took yesterday on my first summer walk for this year after months of only work, work work, and studying, studying, studying...
By the way... I will be a graduate in October!!!

Daisy for a friend

I have to admit that this year we were blessed for a first time in 6 years with a real summer, followed by a mild autumn which actually turned into an Indian summer

How much better can it get?! Probably not much, so it's better if I leave it at that, I say, and let's keep our fingers crossed, so far we got away with a lot of bad weather (well there was that random tornado on the other side of Galway...) but I shouldn't talk too much it's still in the middle of October so I will really change the subject and I will start talking about daisies!

 Daisy for you
I promised a couple of friends from the states that I will tell them about my secret daisy place. Somewhere in Oughterard, off Cregg road, there is a little lane that leads off into the fields and ends there in the middle of nowhere. Hidden in the bracken and the briers there is a ruin of a barn which no one would notice most of the time except in June and July when the place goes wild and crazy with daisies. They simply grow everywhere - around, on top and throughout the ruins. If you don't see it with your own eyes you won't believe it. So here you go, my images from the Daisy ruin. A sweet memory from last and other summers.

Enjoy everyone
and don't hesitate to comment!!
For all of you who love daisies!

This is how the the Daisy ruin looks like in the summer covered with daisies from top to bottom.

You can actually climb to the top ( NOT RECOMMENDED because the roof has collapsed and there is a big hole in the middle) and guess what!? there are daisies growing there as well!!!

I have been going to this place for many years and believe me it was very difficult
to select just a few images for this new blog post.

A splash of Pink

Since the weather is pretty bad right now - rain, wind, clouds and all that - I crave for colour and light.

It always happens to me if I am stuck inside and the only colours are dark grey, dark brown and more dark of everything. And since I prefer to take photos outdoors with natural light inside I feel a bit restrained and imprisoned.

So I search for colour to lift my spirits up and I always find something in my database. I am still organizing all the images I have taken over the years and today I chose the wild rose. There is plenty of those in the area where I live and they make gorgeous photography subjects!!

I hope you will agree. So, here is a splash of colour from me, hiding from the wind and the rain today, searching for enlightenment, light and beautiful colours.
