I FOUND A TREASURE

Today is a pretty miserable day weather wise.

It is raining or drizzling very consistently, enough to make you thoroughly wet if you are out and about walking the dogs totally unprepared.

I was trudging  along keeping pace with the guys when suddenly I found a treasure.
A real sign that autumn is here but we don't know it yet.

Actually I can see the change in the bog lands. The rusty glow in the grasses and the wind blown rushes. It's all there in the tree leaves and the chill of the early morning breeze..

And then there is this, just one among the last of the green.

Red is for Autumn

I went out today to walk the dogs and do you know what I discovered?

NO matter where I looked suddenly there were red berries and red colours everywhere. One thing I am sure of is that they were definitely not here last week.

But it is September now and suddenly everything is changing. The feel of autumn is in the air...

Autumn days at Fairybridge

The summer goes by so fast, one day it's here full blast, hot and sticky and then one morning you wake up, go out for your early morning walk and the night wind chills you to the bones and the cold drizzle makes you wish you have your winter jacked on.

Well, once you feel that, believe me, summer has turned it's back on us, it's walking away fast and autumn is already here before you even think about it. Before you had time to ask yourself where did all the time go, how come we didn't do anything interesting...again...

Just work, sleep, work and brief glimpses of blue sky with deep gulps of fresh air here and there ...

I hope it was better for you, I hope you had time to enjoy the summer, to travel, to go to the beach and swim until you feel week under the sun, to climb mountains until you had just about enough of rocks, wild fires and lack of civilization.
Me I had my salvation - my camera,  so no matter what happens I always have a way out, as long as I can take photos.

The summer garden has changed at Fairybridge, the light is also different and I actually love the that new combination.
Here is what I took today

Occasional sunny spells

Occasionally after a horrific summer like last one, here in Ireland we get fantastic autumn days, with lovely sunny spells.

Every time the weather is clear, warm and sunny people are up and about trying to get the most of it because you never now when it will get bad again, an here in Galway county, it happens faster than anywhere else.

Remember The Twilight movies with the vampires hiding out in Forks because it is the rainiest and cloudiest place on Earth, well believe me they should have come here, there is definitely more cloudy and rainy days all year round and the landscape is as dramatic!!

The occasional sunny spells do bring the spirits up and we get a a lovely break from the constant drizzle and heavy overcast skies. It becomes lovely and sunny and bright. The colours are warm and all I want to do is climb the mountains and walk the forests and swim the ocean and take photos all the time...until it starts again

Forgive me for feeling a bit bitter and sarcastic but a lot of bad weather can really bring you dawn sometimes....

Anyway here are the photos from the last occasional sunny spell
