Catch the SunLight

This morning, I was planning to continue my spring posts with photos from my latest apple tree blossoms collection but when I started working converting files I found a folder I have forgotten from the beginning of January and I got completely sidetracked converting those files instead. 

Go figure, we work in mysterious ways sometimes.

Anyway, that particular morning was really special because I was waiting for it since last year. You see, the place where I took the photos is along a little road that climbs a hill. Twice a years, at about 9am in the morning, the sun shines down this road at exactly the perfect angle. Then I need some rain to have fallen during the night so everything would be covered in raindrops. And then I come with the camera and I take photos. Sounds easy enough, but it is not easy to have all the conditions present at the same right time.

I am only trying to Catch the Sun Light. How hard can it be?

Lets celebrate

Today is 11.12.13. 

A day that deserves a post of its own just because it's such a great number which will never ever happen again in all history of mankind. I find it so absolutely cool for no particular reason at all, just cracks me up. 

So, for this occasion, I have prepared some special photos to mark a special day.

The Magic of the Rising Sun

There is something so peaceful and relaxing about waking up early. 

Everyone else is still sleeping, the only noises out there are the birds singing happily for the new day. 

You go out and take a deep breath and it is fresh and invigorating and loaded with energy. Now is the time to climb a hill, or go to the lake or the sea shore and wait for the sun to come up. Those short few moments when it rolls out over the horizon and slowly climbs up, 

they are the best part of the day.  

For a while, everyday before work, I used to cycle to the pier in Oughterard. 

Every single morning, right in time for the sunrise. Believe me, I witnessed some stunning scenes, from there, from the very same spot on that pier. And at the same time they were always different and never the same. Confusing, I know!!! 

The moment of the sunrise lasts only a few precious moments and then the light changes and voila - it is time to start another day.

So,here you go, I share with you some of my favourite images, trying to do justice to the magic of the rising sun.

ANOTHER SUN on the hills of Connemara

Sometimes I go out with random thoughts in mind 

ready for anything and then I get completely stunned and pleasantly surprised. 

Usually I feel lucky I was there with the camera in hand.

These photos are from one of those mornings when I feel utterly grateful that I exist 

and that I was there to witness that moment in space and time 

which will never really happen again. 

Lucky me.
