The Cat That Just Moved In

Well, what do you know. It seems cats just walk in, move in, and that is that. 

If they choose you, they choose you forever and you become their new family. 

This is what happened to us, last August this ragged, starved, dirty, scared little thing just appeared in the garden and moved iton the green house eventually.
For 2 months he didn't let anyone come near him even a couple of meters away. But believe me, he ate the food I left for him in the garden. He has a crippled front paw but even so he is amazingly fast when he feels he needs to disappear. With the speed of light. 

Anyway, over the last few months he is looking better, being well fed, my daughter manages to comb him regularly and all his fluff is looking a bit more organised and lovelier. Believe me, I have never seen such a fur ball in my life!! So much fluff in one place!! Reminds me of feathers, light and airy and his colour is so wonderfully orange. He is the prettiest kitty I have ever seen.

Catch the SunLight

This morning, I was planning to continue my spring posts with photos from my latest apple tree blossoms collection but when I started working converting files I found a folder I have forgotten from the beginning of January and I got completely sidetracked converting those files instead. 

Go figure, we work in mysterious ways sometimes.

Anyway, that particular morning was really special because I was waiting for it since last year. You see, the place where I took the photos is along a little road that climbs a hill. Twice a years, at about 9am in the morning, the sun shines down this road at exactly the perfect angle. Then I need some rain to have fallen during the night so everything would be covered in raindrops. And then I come with the camera and I take photos. Sounds easy enough, but it is not easy to have all the conditions present at the same right time.

I am only trying to Catch the Sun Light. How hard can it be?

Fun with Frost

When there is no deep snow to mess around with there is a bit of fancy frost to take a few photos of.

I guess that will do for now.  Something to take my mind of the raging storm outside.

Lost in the magic of bad weather

Yes, I am still lost in a perpetual, day-after-day succession of  storms with thunder and lightning, and more and more rain, and more wind....

For how long, I do not know, but it feels as if it has been going on forever.

And believe me, it is as if someone wrapped the area where we live in an invisible bubble of bad weather, because it is definitely not as bad everywhere else in the county and in the country.

The bad weather is localized just here. It is extra rainy and extra windy. Sometimes, just a few kilometers away it's nice and sunny, while where we live it pours like crazy!!

It all has to do with the position of our town I believe, so there is nothing we can really do about it except get some really good rain gear and tough it up.

As usual my images look a bit strange, so Google hasn't resolved their issue with uploading images yet.  Very annoying situation because I lost a lot of time deleting and finding new ones instead of the ones I was planning to use!!

11 FACTs ABOUT ME

1. I am madly in love with photography and never go anywhere without my camera. This is my RULE NUMBER 1 
2. My second passion is being outdoors, walking, hiking, mountain climbing etc... anything related to all that is my cup of tea. With my camera in hand obviously.
3. I am mad about water too. If I see a puddle, lake, mountain stream, ocean, sea, glacier lake, I am in it. Swimming is the only sport I ever did seriously in my life. 
4. I love to read. I am mad about books and I think that the smell of a brand new book is intoxicating. I am very open minded I read a lot of different genres - Sci-Fi and fantasy among my favourite though. I am a girl with a lot of imagination.  
5. I always listen to music - especially when I am working - I need to have the music going on strong!! The same as with books, I am open to many different styles that can surprise you, some can be a bit incompatible. 
6. I don't drive, I cycle or walk.
7. I don't like hot weather.
8. I love drizzling rain and fog.(!!I know?!)
9. I adore chocolate but I have't had any for ages...:-(
10. I want to go to Alaska and Iceland and take photos there until I drop!! 
11. I love trees, I eat healthy, I exercise every day, I love coffee and I haven't smoked for 12 years but I still enjoy a good glass of wine!!!

A BIT OF CHRISTMAS CHEER

I  needed a bit of cheering up today so I decided to post a few shots I took last Friday in Galway Shopping center. 

I have discovered that at this time of the year looking at Christmas images lifts my spirits up. Well, call me hopelessly romantic or soapy, or old-fashioned or corny ...whatever I don't really mind! I love it and that is that!!


This is the new Christmas decoration of the Gourmet Tart Co. shop window. I think it is really cool and deserves a bit of attention!! Good job and well done guys!!
