Red is for Autumn

I went out today to walk the dogs and do you know what I discovered?

NO matter where I looked suddenly there were red berries and red colours everywhere. One thing I am sure of is that they were definitely not here last week.

But it is September now and suddenly everything is changing. The feel of autumn is in the air...

In Love with Daisies

Who isn't in love with daisies?

daisies, wild flowers, countryside, Ireland, Galway

They are the prettiest of flowers, they come in so many shapes and sizes.
Small ones, big ones, wild ones....
My favourite are the ones that hug the side of the road all summer, always there swaying in the breeze, smiling at the sun and everyone who notices..

I have a few shots here to brighten your day

Purple time of the year

Did you know that at this time of the year there is mainly purple flowers blossoming out there in the wild?!

This is what I discovered today while I was walking the dogs and admiring the fabulous lush green around me. Then I noticed the lovely purple flowers one after the other until I realised that the purple  is everywhere!!

Of course I had to start taking photos of all the different plants I could find and I was amazed to discover how many different species of purple flowers are growing in the Irish countryside! Well, let's say some are not exactly purple and lean more towards the pink and blue shades but well this makes for such a good name ;-)

Oh my, it is definitely the purple time of the year!!

Catch the SunLight

This morning, I was planning to continue my spring posts with photos from my latest apple tree blossoms collection but when I started working converting files I found a folder I have forgotten from the beginning of January and I got completely sidetracked converting those files instead.

Go figure, we work in mysterious ways sometimes.

Anyway, that particular morning was really special because I was waiting for it since last year. You see, the place where I took the photos is along a little road that climbs a hill. Twice a years, at about 9am in the morning, the sun shines down this road at exactly the perfect angle. Then I need some rain to have fallen during the night so everything would be covered in raindrops. And then I come with the camera and I take photos. Sounds easy enough, but it is not easy to have all the conditions present at the same right time.

I am only trying to Catch the Sun Light. How hard can it be?

Here is the result you can judge for yourselves

July dreams in February

I am so tired of the rain and the bad weather I find myself daydreaming of summer. I am thinking of those wonderful July walks, very early ...
